Hawaii SB1231
Hawaii is on the verge of passing SB1231, a bill that fails to protect the rights and dignity of donor conceived people by cementing into law the continued use of anonymous gamete donors in 2025.
Current SB1231 Harms DCP
SB1231 currently relies on an outdated version of the Uniform Parentage Act Article 9 that will cement anonymity into law.
SB1231 will deprive DCP of access to half of their genetic origins by a billion dollar industry.

The Hawaii Senate Committee on the Judiciary will be hearing the bill on Tuesday at 2:30 PM EDT (9:30 HT). Testimony must be submitted by 2:30 PM EDT (9:30 HT) on Monday. However, you can call and email the committee members anytime before the hearing!
Tell Lawmakers: “Vote NO Unless Amended. This bill is using an outdated version of Article 9 of the Uniform Parentage Act that cements anonymity. To protect donor conceived people, SB1231 must use the updated 2024 version of Article 9 or remove Part 10 of the bill entirely.”
