U.S. Donor Conceived Council opposes Section 627(f) of S. 4638 (2025 National Defense Authorization Act). This Section would require military families that have embryos created by in vitro fertilization to store their embryos in perpetuity or release the embryos for the “purpose of embryo adoption.” This is an overly burdensome requirement and could result in forced donation of embryos against a family’s wishes. USDCC believes all families should have the ability to choose the disposition of their embryos.
